Straight Jacket

When we got there tonight, we noticed that Austin was bundled up in a blanket like a burrito. He's usually just tucked in and not bundled up like that. The nurse told us that he was fussy and moving around a lot, so they took the next developmental step. They turned off his incubator and wrapped him up so he could begin to regulate his own temperature. He also weighed 3 pounds, 8.4 ounces today. So he's trying to knock out two of his new years resolutions at the same time, gain weight and regulate his own temp.

We asked about his length today and the nurse said they measure him every week. He was born 16 1/4 inches and is now 16 1/2.

Austin must have had a rough night out on the town. His hat isn't on, it's just laying across his head and nobody tucked him in. I wonder if this is the work of one of the nurses, or someone else??

Well, I think you all did a real good job tucking me in. I look and feel really cozy. Except one thing...the cannular is actually supposed to be in both nostrils, not just one.
