Daddy's Turn

Whoo hoo! I got my first kangaroo under my belt. It's amazing holding him and feeling him kick and move around on your chest. I thought about sneaking in a kiss earlier in the day, but Shelly told me that it probably wasn't a good idea. But when nurse Anne put him on my chest tonight, she asked if I wanted to sneak in a kiss on his head before she put his hat on. So I obliged and boy did it feel good.

Austin is now up to 22cc of milk. They are also adding a supplement (human milk fortifier) to it that adds 10% more calories to his feedings. They said a normal feeding is 20 calories and the suppliment adds 2 additional calories. Today he weighed in at 2 pounds 11.4 ounces, which is up over an ounce since he was born. Not much, but we'll take it.

Uh oh, looks like we have a troublemaker on our hands. This is what Aunt Sheri got to see when she came in today for the first time.
